Obama Attacks McCain On Al Qaeda In Pakistan!

Mon Jun 30, 2008 at 12:46:39 PM PDT

The Obama campaign just finished their conference call on the New York Times story about Al-Qaeda flourishing in Pakistan, and hit McCain several times during their conference call for supporting the Iraq war.

The New York Times article had this very important graf in the middle of the story, which the Obama campaign took and ran with as the football down to the 40-yard line:

Current and former military and intelligence officials said that the war in Iraq consistently diverted resources and high-level attention from the tribal areas. When American military and intelligence officials requested additional Predator drones to survey the tribal areas, they were told no drones were available because they had been sent to Iraq.

The Obama campaign foreign policy spokesperson, Susan Rice, was on the conference call and she said that the report "just confirms Obama has had all the right judgments about fighting terrorism and McCain has made the wrong ones" and she went on to further criticize the McCain campaign upholding the war in Iraq and their support of George W. Bush, saying "it was a mistake for the United States to align itself wholly and irrevocably to the Musharraf regime..[and]as a consequence, our standing in Pakistan has been diminished."
